What is the aim or goal of your writing:
2nd ed. says, "I like writing that treks along without the seeming labor pains of creation. I dislike pompous, academical writing as if the author is suffering from the terminal, dread fear of split infinitives. I have been very fortunate in the editors leave my writing intact, exactly as submitted to them. I was once told by Malcolm M. Bingay (venerable editor of the Detroit Free Press) that I wrote with cadence, with a proclivity for for choosing words with 'ear appeal'. I simply like writing that 'picks up its heels' and get trekking down the printed page."
