What is the aim or goal of your writing: He was educated privately until he entered high school. He was a good athlete and eager student of bird and animal life. He also enjoyed history and historical fiction. After work in a packing house and an excursion on a goldrush he studied law at Columbia but became interested in writing and began that career. Travel out west gave him background for The Blazed Trail and more travel to Africa and Alaska and service in the field artillery gave him more background for stories. His wife accompanied him on many of his travels; she was the guide "Billy" to whom many of his books were dedicated. During the 20s, the couple ventured into the world of parapsychology.
