What is the aim or goal of your writing: Contemporary Authors says, "My writing tends to work within mythic communities and constructs, most of which come out of oral traditions of the Anishinabe (Ojibwa), family history, reinvented personal history, and imagined analogues. My writing also tends toward multi-genre experimentation with multiple narrative voices and mythic elements of time and space. The poetry I write relies on imagery and subdued rhythmic diction, and my fiction works through various literary forms and genres to open up possibilities for storytelling. That is, native oral trditions and lifeways have influenced my thinking, if not my writing style."
