What is the aim or goal of your writing: As a Michigan author and illustrator I was inspired as a teen by Gwen Frostic. I went on to independently study nature and illustration so as to illustrate books that highlight Michigan's park and wild places to inspire others to connect and share their stories. I write to preserve moment and place, I draw detailed field notes to add sensory details to incorporate them in my illustrations and writing.
