What is the aim or goal of your writing:
For me, writing is not a hobby, but a career. I attribute my success to talent and perseverance, but also to the writing community as a whole. In 2004 I started an online writers organization called Backspace that now has over 2,100 members in a dozen countries. I also organized and ran the highly successful Backspace Writers Conferences in New York City for nine years, and am currently organizing and running the Salt Cay Writers Retreat held annually on a private island in the Bahamas. Over the years, I've watched literally hundreds of members get published. Everything I know about the publishing industry, I learned from them. In turn, I enjoy speaking at writers conferences and events to pay it forward and help other authors reach their publishing goals.
