What is the aim or goal of your writing: 2nd ed. says, "Delta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, an honor society for key women teachers, of what I am a member, sponsored a project on Finnish heritage for the Bicentennial. Because I had spent a lifetime working with children; because I was retired and had time; and, because of my Finnish background, I accepted the task of writing the book, Finnish Heritage in America, as a part of a teaching module for upper elementary grades. It was a very rewarding experience." "The book was distributed free to all Upper Peninsula elementary schools. The adult demand was such that a second printing of 5,000 was authorized. This book has had circulation in more than half of the United States and in half a dozen foreign countries. Aside from its use in the schools and libraries of the Upper Peninsula, the book has also been used in the media centers of several downstate metropolitan school districts. The book has served sudents not only in the Finnish classes but other courses as well."
