What is the aim or goal of your writing: 2nd ed. says, "If I were to spend an hour on his couch, I'm sure my analyst would conclude that the thread that binds my fabric is sport, especially football. It absorbed my energies during those adventuresome teen years, keeping me out of a lot of additional mischief I would certainly have created. It challenged me to strive for perfection. (At 5'4", 134 lbs. cunning on the gridiron was absolutely essential to my self-preservation.) It drew me to such exotic American cities as Antonito, Colorado; Tongaoxie, Kansas; Emporia, Kansas; and Angola, Indiana, where I carried the proud and powerful title of 'Coach'. And it has me on 'offense' now, learning to write about the great coaches of all time such as Michigan's Fielding Yost, the plight of black athletes such as those who carried Michigan's name to national and international acclaim, and the little town of Hudson, Michigan, which took a magic carpet ride, returning to earth only after having established a national record by winning 72 straight football games. "My analyst would probably advise me to 'hang in there, young man. You may never be a writing celebrity, but the fabric is in pretty good shape.'" Sidelight "In 1979 my career emphasis shifted from university teaching to supervisory training for area business firms through a consulting firm my wife and I began that year. I purchased a distributorship in 1979 and began marketing cassette tape programs on goal achievement, time management, and sales success. What makes my service unique is that I work in the plant, gaining a respect for the challenges those employees face, before conducting seminars on communication, problem solving, motivation, and other leadership skills."
