What is the aim or goal of your writing: There is no "why" when it comes to writing. For me, it is a means of mental and spiritual survival, like breathing is a means to physical survival. My mind is constantly asking questions, forming ideas and developing storylines. I always joke that writing is a way for me to deal with the "voices in my head". Regarding success, writing a novel takes commitment and motivation. You have to believe in your characters and your story so much so that you are compelled to bring them to life. The rest is just being motivated enough to sit down every day, put down words on paper until you have a complete work and then edit, edit, edit.
