What is the aim or goal of your writing:
"To entertain (first) myself, and (second) fiction readers, particular young people, to inform and encourage and support young readers, and to earn a living."
2nd ed. says, "I began writing as a small child, love what I do, and have worked with a number of beginning writers to help them toward publication.
Though I have been gone from Michigan for some time, I have many friends and relatives there, and many fond memories. And of course, Michigan gets into my books once in a while; I can't think of a more perfect place for a child to grow up than in the woods and lake country in both upper and lower Michigan. I'll always love it."
