What is the aim or goal of your writing: 1st ed. says, Dr. Beck became interested in the songs and stories of the lumberjacks, met the old-timers, and collected their lore. He staged a Michigan program for the First National Folk Festival in St. Louis, Missouri, and these entertainers did so well that they continued on platform, radio, and television until 1958. "Since my last lumberwoods book, I have been collecting cowboy and sourdough songs and tales of Montana, Wyoming, Dakota, and Nebraska. There may come a time when I have gathered enough unpublished material to fill a new book."
