What is the aim or goal of your writing:
In the previous edition of Michigan Authors he is credited with: "I have read poetry-my own and that of other poets-in college, universities, and public schools in 22 states. This is my way of opening up the world of poetry to students." Michigan poet, Terry Wooten commented about his friend: "Max Ellison was a trail blazer in the current revival of the oral tradition of poetry. His work has inspired a new generation of poets, who like Max strive to revitalize and bring poetry to life. He is still loved, respected and remembered by an amazing number of people from across the country. The 'Rascal Poet' to the end, his final work was sent to hundreds of schools at his request: 'Effective May 2, 1985 Max Ellison cancels all speaking engagements. His Creator called his bluff... He had a pair of deuces against a full house.'" Terry Wooten's Words Wild With Bloom is an oral history, poem biography on Max Ellison. Terry relates: "He spent many hours at my kitchen table telling tales and this book is a result of those times. Max knew I was writing it before he died."
