What is the aim or goal of your writing: 2nd ed. says, "Having passed my 85th birthday on January 13th (I was born on Friday the 13th and consider myself very fortunate in having quite good health) I get great satisfaction and comfort in reading such books as Paul Tillich's The Eternal Now and the three volumes of sermons of Frederick Robertson of Brighton, England. I read the New York Times daily to keep uo to date with world affairs and, being a member of the Research Society of the Sigma Xi. receive bi-monthly the American Scientist. I also keep reading at my eleven volumes written by Will Durant and his wife, just to see how history in many ways keeps repeating itself. However, I am still an optimist about the future state of the world. Mr. Haushalter also holds 35 patents on various rubber products. His most important patent was a device which grounded the steel pin of rubber-bushed tank tracks to the steel track block. Thjis device insured radio reception between tanks in battle. He received a citation for Meritorious Civilian Service for his device from the Chief of Ordanance, Army Service Forces. "
