What is the aim or goal of your writing: 2nd ed. says. "As a journalist and columnist my specialties are feminist issues and the family. I believe in problem-solving journalism which sheds light on human dilemmas and needs and offers solutions and hope. As a creative writer of poems and fiction, I probe for universal truths about the human condition and say in story or verse what often cannot be said in the confines of a news feature story." Contemporary Authors says, "Her notable assignments include an investigative report of abortion referral agencies, juvenile crime, marriage and family relationships, the women's movement, science, and homicide. It is not sufficient to probe problems and recite facts. We must also point to possible solutions. For example, in a series of articles on juvenile crime, it became evident there was a lack of counseling for the family when children become involved with the law. She was able to recommend in a final article that an anonymous self-help group be formed for this purpose and several community agencies rallied to this need. In this way, the journalist becomes part of the solution."
