What is the aim or goal of your writing:
I attribute my success to: a good education; parents who exposed me to a variety of experiences at an early age; a family of professional writers with whom to share ideas; a challenging but interesting life which has provided me with an endless supply of material; perseverance; an insatiable curiosity and a God-given ability to write in a way which entertains or informs others.
I have a background that promoted a traditional work ethic while accurately advocating the theory that there is a direct relationship between hard work and success. I have embraced this ethic with recent modifications. I try to write at a pace I enjoy about things which interest me or about which I feel very strongly. If this results in work which is informative or entertaining to others, I shall consider submitting the completed piece for publication. Self-fulfillment and passion for a topic, rather than publication, motivates most of my post-retirement writing. I do feel an innate compulsion to write which, at times, borders on obsession.
