What is the aim or goal of your writing: 2nd ed. says, " Michigan has great inspiration for me. My dad fostered a love of writing in me when he helped me produce my first newspaper, The Merriweather Messenger, on Merriweather Road, Grosse Pointe, MI. At 8 and 9 years of age I was printing 'All the News That's Fun to Print' (our motto) about my neighbors. My years at Crystalaire Camp and at the University of Michigan found me writing a journal of my reflections so I can look back on them and remember my wonderful native state wherever I go. My book grew from my experiences as a Grosse Pointe News reporter. I took the police beat when the first black family moved into the community in 1966. For my doctoral dissertation, upon which my current manuscript is based, I researched General Motors and UAW files in Detroit."
