What is the aim or goal of your writing: In the 2nd edition of Michigan Authors he is credited with: "'Do not be afraid of work and keep the mind active.' He has recently completed A Rankin Family History for the benefit of Rankin descendants, a task which spanned thirty years of research and writing. His grandfather, Edward Peter Rankin, brought his name and bride to Pontiac in 1844 and his family of eight was raised and lived in the Detroit area. His father left the family hearthside in 1885 and moved to Marquette."
