What is the aim or goal of your writing: 2nd ed says, "Best remembered for his character 'Scattergood Baines', Mr. Kelland was vice-president and director of Phoenix (Arizona) Newspaper Inc. at the time of his death. He worked for The Detroit News until becoming editor of the magazine American Boy. His first novel appeared in 1913, and his last in 1960. He wrote about 60 novels and over 200 short stories. 'Scattergood' ran as a serial in The Saturday Evening Post. He spent one year overseas during World War I as director of publicity of the YMCA. Active in Republican politics, he served as national and later as state committeeman."
