What is the aim or goal of your writing:
Scannell's says, "His father was a Congregational clergyman: Mr. Thwing himself is of the Methodist Faith. In politics he has been in sympathy with the Progressive movement." Michigan in Literature says, "In his forward to The Red Keggers, Thwing acknowledged his indebtedness to John Rhines, a Michigan pioneer, for his personal accounts of the 1870s in mid-Michigan, and to Edwin Burton of the Midland area for making available a memoir, Green Fields and Whispering Woods written by Edwin's brother, Frank. The Burton's father had managed a logging camp, and Frank had operated a shingle mill before beginning a career as founder and editor of The Midland Sun, an early newspaper."
