What is the aim or goal of your writing: After working in Milwaukee and Chicago, he settled in Harbert, Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan. He continued writing the poetry and prose for which he became famous. His later years he lived in North Carolina. The underlying theme of his works is his deep faith in America and he has traveled about America to sing and tell about it.
