What is the aim or goal of your writing: The goal varies with the type of writing. In my novels, entertainment is primary; I'm trying to give the reader a gripping and moving story. In my composition textbooks, the aim was to provide a simplified but scrupulously accurate step-by-step guide to underprepared first-year college students. The vocabulary text and the dictionary were meant to provide a crash course in Latin and Greek word parts, the underpinnings of our word hoard. I strongly subscribe to Wittgenstein's observation that the limits of our language define the limits of our world.
