What is the aim or goal of your writing: Mr. Roethke wrote of his early years:-"I grew up in and around a beautiful greenhouse owned by my father and uncle." " I have lived very quietly and then foolishly and violently." He appreciated the approval of his students at Bennington and desired to hold the regard of "the man in the street".
