What is the aim or goal of your writing: A 'voice crying in the wilderness' of rural southwestern Michigan in Berrien County, I feel compelled to communicate my cause to the outside world: the preservation of our historical resources, especially of old log cabins which are in danger of being destroyed. This has a positive side also. By organizing and coordinating the annual Log Cabin Day on the last Sunday of June, the only statewide log cabin festival in the U.S.A., I have learned communication skills which help bring thousands of visitors every year to more than fifty Log Cabin day events in the state, with old-time music, crafts and historical re-enactments. I also am trying to keep alive spinning and flax-work in our area, with writings and demonstrations.
