What is the aim or goal of your writing:
I illustrate books because my earliest memories of book are visual. I can still remember the illustrations of my favorite books as a child. I don't really consider myself a success, but I guess if you are a published illustrator, you are successful at what you do. My favorite moments are when a child comes up to me and tells me that he loves the dinosaur on the cover. At one book signing, a young boy shyly approached the table to tell me that all my books were sold out, but that he wanted me to sign a piece of paper anyway. To me, that is success.

- I started in fashion design, then graphic design, and then went to industrial design. I learned publishing frojm the bottom up and did my first cover illustration for a magazine about 25 years ago. That is what started my illustration career. I started my own company shortly before that. I am currently the owner of Diva Designs, a design firm in Brighton, MI providing services in graphic design, illustration, interior and exterior design, retail displays, murals, fine art, photography, copy writing, web site design and market research. Prior to that, I ran an advertising company in South Bend, IN, and prior to that ran an advertising department for an international company in Phoenix, AZ. |
