What is the aim or goal of your writing: "To communicate to the reader/audience poems that speak from our common humanness, our common concerns and fears, our common heart. My poetry (hopefully) does what all true poetry must do: be accessible to the reader by offering a common ground, yet retain a mystery at its core that everyone can relate to in a totally different way. This kind of poetry is a risky balancing act, but it's the most exhilerating kind of writing that I know of. I use extended metaphors, symbolic language, mythology, irony, subtle wit, and cadence to achieve this. Every unwritten poem is a gift waiting to be discovered, ourselves waiting to be met."
