What is the aim or goal of your writing:
"To write as well as I can. To be involved in the world to the extent that my writing and my life come together to reflect what I believe to be a writer's second obligation, and that is to the world in which she writes. The first obligation, as other writers (John Barth, and others) have said, is to write as well as one can. I am active in the disability movement and vocal too about women's rights, education, and the political in our lives."
