What is the aim or goal of your writing:
"The Carr family did not come to America on the Mayflower, but by 1670 they were established in Massachusetts. And almost from that time on they have followed the frontier, from Massachusetts to New York State, on to Michigan, Colorado, North Dakota to the Pacific coast and back again. Generation after generation they wrote letters...they told stories to their children...they made friends with the Indians, established trading posts, broke the soil of the plain states, mined gold."
1st ed. says, " My advice to young people who long to write is simple; find a good teacher and critic, then keep trying."
