What is the aim or goal of your writing: Jim’s poetry and journalism celebrated “the Joy Triumphant,” to take a phrase from one of his poems. He did not live long enough to find conventional success, but Jim and his writing and performances are still remembered vividly by poets and artists 20 years after his death.
