What is the aim or goal of your writing: The impetus for my book was my personal loss in 2007 when I was 33, my husband died. About eight weeks prior he was not feeling well and it was found that he had adrenal adrenal cancer. Although, I have a Master's degree in social work, nothing prepared me for this loss. I spent about 3 years reading everything I could about death and the effects it has on people but I couldn't find anything that had the narratives of widows. I spent 3.5 years interviewing as many widows as I could. Their educational, religious financial backgrounds varied as well as their ages. The causes of death also ranged from but were not limited to: suicide, substance abuse, cancer, 9/11, accidents, heart conditions, natural causes. I put their stories together along with practical advice from experts in this book.
