What is the aim or goal of your writing: The writing of Water Walkers and other stories were the result of my participation in the National Endowment for the Humanities sessions. Through presentations, field experiences, research, and lectures by notable university professors, I learned many unusual details and truths about history that inspired me to write with a new perspective about the past. For me, success has come from the encouragement of others and my formal education as a teacher and media specialist. My experience as an educator has enabled me to see areas of student interest and appreciate literature’s ability to change people’s viewpoint.
