1st ed. says, " I was born in New York State but have lived in Michigan for 50 years and regard myself as a Michigan woman. Summers I live alone on an island surrounded by an Ojibway Indian Reservation. I am writing another book but don't have a name for it yet."

There is some confusion on the spellings of her names. Mariion or Marian, both are found. Social Security Death Index lists her as Marian. The Alumni Record and General Catalogue of Syracuse University lists her as Marion. MeLCat searhes produce both spellings.
