What is the aim or goal of your writing: Writing for me is a discovery process, allowing access to insights that are not available through other means. As a child I had great difficulty learning to read and attended remedial reading classes for several years. In retrospect, I believe I suffered from some version of dyslexia, though I don’t know if the condition was diagnosed in those days. In any case, when I did finally learn to read, at about age 12, I treasured the aptitude and became a voracious reader. I believe this experience heightened my awareness of the value of the printed word and contributed to my desire to write.
