What is the aim or goal of your writing:
I attribute my success to upbringing, support and incredible good fortune. My father, Alan C. Van Dine, is an author and writer of note who nurtured my love of writing, encouraging my efforts and always gave honest critiques; my mother, Joan More, shared with me her great love for books and taught me much about critical reading. During the writing of this book, my husband, George Weller, worked incredibly to support me and as my own in-house reader and editor. For all this, and for good fortune, I can only thank God.
Enforce a writing routine: devote a set number of hours to write and DO IT. Next, and most important, I must learn to follow my own advice. My best work occurs only when I abide by the discipline of writing. No good writing happens when I don't.
