What is the aim or goal of your writing: 2nd ed. says, "I am a tiny bit German, a little bit English, and a whale of a lot Irish. Therefore, tall tales come more easily to me than factual ones. One line in a favorite book, Charles Reade's The Cloister and the Hearth, expresses my philosophy very nicely: "Look into your own heart and write!'" CA says, " I try always to keep in mind the Neanderthal story teller in E. M. Forster's Aspects of the Novel; 'As soon as the audience guessed what happened next, they either fell asleep or killed him.'"
