What is the aim or goal of your writing: 2nd ed. says, "Writing for me is a marvelous and necessary process in which I preserve 'important' moments in life that otherwise might be lost-and then share these moments with someone I care about-the reader. The 'important' moment may be the excitement of a child discovering the joys of clattering down the street in Coke-can shoes, or it may be the joy of discovering, in the memory of an elderly relative, a wonderfully dramatic scene in which three tough and powerful business tycoons wrestle for control over the million-dollar company they all have built. I think it is important to communicate not only ideas and themes, but some human insights. It is the writer's obligation- and pleasure- to enhance the reader's interest and joy in living. Words- in stories or poems- whether for a child or an adult, should in some way contribute to the reader's Joie de Vivre."
