What is the aim or goal of your writing: St. James says, "His life and career were tragic. He began with a volume of poetry, then progressed to novels, one of which God Head, drew a great deal of critical acclaim and was compared to Dostoevsky. Unfortunately, he drank to excess, which may have ended both his marriages. In a drunken argument, he killed his friend Wilfred Irwin with a shotgun. A much publicized trial follwed, during which Cline pleaded guilty of manslaughter. He served less than a year in prison, but died of heart failure, probably the result of alcholism, at the age of 35." "His The Dark Chamber is one of those novels which is now remembered almost solely for what H. P. Lovecraft said about it and of interest more for how it may have influenced Lovecraft than for its own merits."
