What is the aim or goal of your writing:
2nd ed. says, "I've been writing along in my own poetic groove for years, feeling that my kind of words would somehow find an audience out there in that small world of poetry readers. I have always believed that being able to communicate was the real art of poetry--the ability to pattern simple language into something all people would understand. I employ the use of informal English in all of my writing. I have had a life long love affair with the idiom of the cowboy, the lumberjack, and the people of the circus, roustabouts and performers alike. I've written some of my western poems in common cowboy dialect and feel very much at home in that form. Although I have written a great deal of free verse, I still enjoy working the most traditional poetic forms. My poems cover a wide variety of subjects, but I am best known for my western and circus pieces. If they smack of authenticity, it is only because I spent a lot of years as a featured juggler and trick roper in circuses and wild west shows. I am writing about what I know best."
