What is the aim or goal of your writing:
2nd ed. says, "I have a dual nature as regards to my life and my art. I write half to please myself and half to reach humanity. Self-love is a necessary ingredient in enabling a writer to overcome the obstacles that will inevitably turn up. However, talent is given one with an obligation, and a writer's attitude towards his fellow man is also vital. Any writer who wants only to be a free artist without regard to others, or to using his art for their sake as well as his own, is of a narrow outlook, and his work will reflect this. But I understnd how difficult it is to achieve this ideal balance. Perhaps it will take a lifetime."
