What is the aim or goal of your writing: Haul-Out is the final collection of new and selected poetry by Stephen Tudor, who was a professor of English at Wayne State University. A devoted mariner, Tudor wrote of his passions: sailing and the Great Lakes. Along with the best poems from Tudor's Hangdog Reef, this spirited volume features forty-three unpublished poems written before he was lost at sea in 1994. Poet and professor Stephen H. Tudor died in a boating accident on Lake Huron, one of the five Great Lakes that surround Michigan. At the time he was competing in a race called the Singlehanded Challenge Regatta, beginning in Port Huron and finishing at Mackinac Island, Michigan.
