What is the aim or goal of your writing: I attribute my success to tenacity. Many mainstream publications won't even look at cowboy/horse poetry. I've had to contemporize the traditional ballad in order to get editors to take notice. Western fiction is just as hard to get published. Fortunately there are some great associations that offer support to authors of their genre.
