What is the aim or goal of your writing:
Contemporary Authors says, "Thompson describes himself as a professor of the streets. He teaches Afro-American history and culture through poetry, music, and song. As an educator and consultant, he has created teaching materials for preschool through high school, and has devised courses for college students and adult education programs. His own work has been read at festivals all over the world."
2nd ed. says, "He sees his role as that of a modern 'griot' revising and restoring essentials of Aframerican culture through his method of teaching: Contrast-Cohesion-Continuum, developed during his tenure with the Thirteen College (group of historically black universities) Consortium's 'Seminars'. This extremely flexible interdisciplinary method has been utilized in his presentation: The Praise Song-Aframerican Poetry Past & Present, Oral & Literary."
