What is the aim or goal of your writing: Athough identified as a New Engand poet, many will remember with delight his impression on students at the University of Michigan (when he taught there). We also remember Michgan's impression on him as evidenced in the poem, "Spring Pools". "I lived out on Pontiac Road then," he said to a student reporter from "The Michigan Daily" during one of his several return visits to Ann Arbor, "and one night I sat alone by my open fireplace and wrote "Spring Pools." It was a very pleasant experience, and I remember it clearly." ( taken from Michigan Poets, 1964)
