What is the aim or goal of your writing: 2nd ed. says, "Since Planet Earth is a workshop, not a waiting room, I think being a writer is a privileged way to spend the years. Writers stay alive to what's going on around them; to how the world is developing at large; to needs and reactions of people close by. Using either end of the telescope to view life, a writer can always find some aspect that may need his own particular work. Even if all the jottings and long-time efforts don't find a home with a publisher, the writer still gains, growing a new way with each new kind of communication he tries."
