What is the aim or goal of your writing: In an April 22, 1992 article in the Kalamazoo Gazette, he comments: "It's a part of my nature to deal with life in plain and simple terms. Its accessiblity is also what some critics don't like about my writing. They think poets should deal with the eternal verities instead of various images of popular culture. I can't resist it."
