What is the aim or goal of your writing: I write because it was what I was born to do. I could read before I started school and have a lifetime love affair with books, words and stories. My third grade teacher started me on the road to writing and I haven't stopped since. Reading, writing, and books are as important to me as eating and breathing. My success? I think success is relative and hard to gauge. If I share with someone, through my writing, something they did not know. If my books have encouraged a child or an adult to want to sit down and read, because it was fun and exciting to learn. If my work has embraced a reluctant reader with words and ideas, I suppose only at that time, to me, I can realize my success. Success to me cannot be measured in the number of books written. The number of awards received. The number of school programs booked or autographs signed. It can only be measured by how much I have contributed to the richness of someone else's life.
