What is the aim or goal of your writing:
"Goal??? At the height of the Great Depression-1936-upon graduating from the University of Michigan my goal was simple enough. Landing a job. I was fortunate in that my experience as women editor of the Michigan Daily led to Public Relations and newspaper work. Following my marriage, I continued writing-my first sale to the Dye-dee Wash magazine. From articles, I graduated to short fiction to books. My greatest satisfaction in the YA field-the fan letters from young people identifying with my fictional characters, and the fact that an unknown someone in a faraway country is reading something I wrote right here in Michigan."
2nd ed. says, " I have been Women's Editor of the Michigan Daily at the
University of Michigan followed by a stint of publicity work in New York. I worked on The Free Press a year and a half and was married in 1940. I have three children and three grandsons. I have published fiction and non-fiction nationally in magazines. We are a sports-minded family and were 'Skiers of the Week' at Aspen. I still play in the Detroit Women's Golf Association. My husband sailed in 30 Mackinac Races-also several ocean races. He is a third generation lawyer in Detroit."
