What is the aim or goal of your writing: I write and illustrate quite simply because I love to tell stories and make pictures. More specifically, I try to make picture books that emphasize craftsmanship and a sense of timelessness in both the art and writing. Any success that I have achieved, I believe, comes from the degree in which my books can remind teachers, parents, and librarians of the craft and sensitivity of their favorite childhood books.
