What is the aim or goal of your writing: 2nd ed. says, "The good things in life are all around us--if only we will look for them. (As he said in one of his poems: 'I've got a million dollars, but of course it aint't in cash.') I began in my late twenties, just writing silly rhymes for fun, but one day I thought maybe I could write a serious poem. it's just a way of life for me, that's my enjoyment. His wife says that his poem 'Goodness in Man,' sums up his philosophy: ...Look for God in man, however, And you'll hear the songbirds sing; See the glory and the beauty God has placed in everything!" He gained a reputation as an after-dinner speaker, giving homey little talks about ordinary things, like changing a tire, winding up reciting one of his poems.
